Joe DiMaggio Historical Beginnings Figurine - 56-Game Hitting Streak in 1941
In mid June of 1941, as Yankee center fielder Joe DiMaggio approached the 30-game mark, talk of reaching George Sisler’s 1922 MLB record of hitting in 41 straight games began. On June 29, Sisler’s record was matched and then surpassed during a double-header against the Washington Senators. Still DiMaggio pushed on, game after game, hit after hit. After two full months, on July 17 against Cleveland, ‘’The Streak’’ ended. Throughout the 56-game hit parade, DiMaggio compiled 91 hits and a .408 batting average as the Yankees went 41-13 to move into first place. Three months later, the Yankees went on the win the 1941 World Series. Relive Joltin' Joe's incredible summer with this Historical Beginnings figurine, which stands 10.5” tall and features a brass nameplate on a cherry wood base. Included is a glossy insert that provides further details about his historic streak.
